Kim van Wilgenburg

Dr. Kim van Wilgenburg works at the department Strategy & Innovation of Amsterdam UMC. Her areas of expertise include value based health care, e-health, data driven healthcare, and digital patient interaction.

She has a background in Psychology (bachelor) followed by master’s degrees in International Health and Health Economics. After her studies she worked at the healthcare department of a large consultancy company advising healthcare providers, government and insurers on policy, strategy and operational processes both in the Netherlands and abroad. After three years she joined the Erasmus University Rotterdam where she worked as a PhD student and assistant professor in Health Economics. Her research applied insights from psychology and behavioural economics to the design, implementation and (quantitative) evaluation of interventions and policy reforms to improve health and healthcare. During her PhD she also worked as an independent consultant for the World Health Organization. She was involved in various projects with the aim to measure and monitor health outcomes and expenditure at the global level.
