Marise Kasteleyn

Dr. Marise Kasteleyn holds a bachelor of science in Psychology (Leiden University), a master of science in Neurosciences (VU University Amsterdam) with and a master of science in Epidemiology (Utrecht University). Her PhD thesis “Tailored support for type 2 diabetes patients after an acute coronary event” was completed at the Julius Center for Health Sciences and Primary care (2015). Currently, she works as a postdoctoral researcher at the Leiden University Medical Center at the department of Public Health and Primary care and at the department of Pulmonology. Her research focusses on chronic diseases (COPD, asthma, diabetes, cardiovascular disease), eHealth, quality of life, tailored support and primary care. She is experienced in both quantitative research (databases, questionnaires) and qualitative research (focus groups). She supervises numerous PhD students and teaches the course “Health and Environment” at the Leiden University College the Hague (LUC).
